The Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is a distinctive area of legally protected countryside, towns and villages in east Suffolk. It’s cherished for its relatively undeveloped, tranquil landscape and stunning natural and cultural history.
The AONB stretches from Kessingland in the north to Shotley Peninsula in the south, and is characterised by shingle beaches, heathland, forest, estuaries and iconic coastal towns.
23 organisations work together to care for the Suffolk Coast & Heaths AONB. This AONB Partnership is coordinated and supported by the AONB team.
The AONB team champions the conservation of the area, providing a lead on key issues and supporting and facilitating the work of others. See a summary of our activities in our December 2018 Infographic.
If you need to find out if an address is within the AONB you can use either Google Maps (the AONB is shown as a pale green area) OR Magic Maps - for our quick guide on finding out if a place is within the Suffolk Coast & Heaths AONB on Magic maps click here.
