Known locally as the "Cathedral of the Marshes", Holy Trinity Church at Blythburgh is one of the best known landmarks in the AONB. Built in the 14th and 15th centuries, its grandeur is an echo of the village's former prosperity as a port, which ended when the river Blyth silted up. Now, the Blyth estuary is a haven for wildlife for which the church provides a magnificent backdrop.
