Cyclists, forest © Tony Pick

The quiet lanes, bridleways and forest tracks of the AONB make it a fantastic place for cyclists, both on and off road. Don’t let anyone tell you that Suffolk is flat however! There are no long steep climbs, but with five estuaries, there are plenty of river valley sides to descend and climb.

Our great Suffolk Coastal Cycle Route pack (£2.50 +P&P) includes a number of maps of on & off-road cycling routes in the area, as well as a very useful map of Rendlesham, Tunstall and Dunwich forests to keep you on track as you explore.

Ordnance Survey produce an excellent series of Explorer Maps. These show all roads and bridleways. Look out for the ones with the AONB logo on them. Explorer Maps 197, 212 and 231 cover the Suffolk Coast & Heaths AONB area
