‘Extraordinary Litter’ wanted as people help clean Suffolk’s beaches this September

Volunteers helping out in the AONB

The Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is inviting all those joining The Great British Beach Clean in Suffolk to report ‘extraordinary litter’!

Every September thousands of people take to the beach all over the UK as part of the Great British Beach Clean, the Marine Conservation Society (MCS)’s annual week-long citizen science event, where hundreds of beach cleans take place.

People participating in Suffolk beach cleans between Friday 17th – Sunday 26th September are asked to report to the Coast and Heaths AONB any unusual or ‘off beam’ items that they find.

The most unusual find will win a pack of beer kindly donated by The Old Felixstowe Brewing Company. #theoldfelixstowebrewingcompany https://tofbc.co.uk/  https://www.facebook.com/theoldfelixstowebrewingco

To enter, take a photo of your ‘extraordinary litter’ and e mail along with your contact details to [email protected]  A brief description of the item might be helpful if it is very unusual!

To join a beach clean, simply visit www.mcsuk.org to see cleans taking place in the area. Alternatively, you can organise your own event! This can be done online at the MCS website or by phone on 01989 566017.
