Grants open for applications

Each year we’re proud to open a number of grants schemes that fund local community projects. Our Sustainable Development Fund is currently open for applications!

Funding is available to a variety of community groups, conservation organisations, or individuals to support projects for the conservation and enhancement of the area.

Previous projects that have been funded by the Sustainable Development Fund include climate change awareness courses, art workshops for tackling men’s mental health, training for canoe trips, and improving access to nature for people on the autistic spectrum.

The closing date for applications is 17th May 2021

What is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB)?

An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is a nationally designated important landscape cared for by a Partnership, a team and the thousands of people who live in, work in and visit it.

Suffolk Coast & Heaths was designated in 1970 with the purpose of conserving and enhancing the habitats and biodiversity of the special heathlands, woodlands, estuaries and coast.

The Partnership and team provide a lead on key issues that affect its future, supporting and facilitating the work of others. It provides advice, guidance and information on a range of topics, can provide grants, encourages volunteering and produces guides to encourage sustainable visiting.

Please help us care for this area. Please follow current government advice and plan ahead. Park considerately and please take your rubbish home. Thank you.
