Volunteering Opportunities

Volunteers play an invaluable role in helping us to conserve and enhance the Suffolk & Essex Coast & Heaths National Landscape. We have a variety of opportunities to get involved in, from practical conservation to beach cleans.

Not all volunteering opportunities are physical and outdoors, so there is something for everyone. Volunteer with us and make friends, learn new skills, get fit, fill a gap in your CV, get work experience and make a real difference to improving one of the UK's outstanding landscapes.

Do you have some spare time to help care for the Suffolk & Essex Coast & Heaths National Landscape?

Our volunteers are an invaluable resource enabling us to carry out important work that we wouldn’t otherwise be able to achieve. There are various ways you can get involved and we will explain more about some of the roles you can take on:

Man by pile of logs

Practical Conservation Tasks

Volunteers collecting litter from a beach

Beachwatch Volunteers

Coast & Vale Youth Rangers

Walker on estuary path

Other Volunteering Roles

The Suffolk & Essex Coast & Heaths National Landscape team is conscious of its impacts on the environment so is looking at working more sustainably. We ask that volunteers consider the miles travelled to volunteer and look to see if there are any appropriate volunteering opportunities more locally. Where possible please look to lift share, use our minibus or use public transport.

If you want to become a volunteer please complete the registration form online or fill out the form and email it to us. For more information on any of the volunteering opportunities and roles within the Suffolk & Essex Coast & Heaths National Landscape, please contact Countryside Project Officer Neil Lister.
